Project Management Training

Delivering Projects. On Time,Every Time.

The success of any large-scale project depends on the strength of the team managing it. Without structured project management knowledge, even well-funded projects face delays, cost overruns, and scope failures. Skilled project managers are the difference between projects that deliver and projects that disappoint.

We provide specialized Project Management Training for EPC and project-driven organizations across the globe. Backed by over 25 years of industry experience, our programs are designed around real-world challenges and current industry needs. Each course builds the core competencies of engineers, managers, and project professionals to plan, execute, and control projects effectively

Our ultimate goal is to improve your organization’s project delivery performance. We do this by designing and delivering customized training programs aligned with internationally recognized frameworks, ensuring participants gain practical, applicable skills they can use immediately on the job.

Over the past years, we have successfully conducted programs covering all critical areas of project planning, scheduling, execution, and control. Our clients include leading EPC contractors, infrastructure developers, government project owners, and original equipment manufacturers.

What is Project Management Training?

Project management training gives professionals the structured knowledge, tools, and techniques needed to plan, execute, monitor, and close projects successfully. For organisations working in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC), infrastructure development, energy, and industrial sectors, this training is not optional. It is a business-critical investment.
At RKS Trainings, our project management training goes well beyond textbook theory. Every module is built from over 25 years of hands-on experience managing large, complex projects across EPC contractors, project owners, and OEM organisations. Participants leave with practical skills they can apply immediately, not just certificates to display.
Whether you are a site engineer stepping into a project coordination role, a procurement professional managing multiple subcontracts, or a senior manager overseeing delivery across teams, our training is designed to meet you where you are and take you further.

Who Should Attend?

This programme is designed for professionals working in or aspiring to work in project-driven environments. It is especially well-suited for the following roles.

Project Managers and Deputy Project Managers

responsible for end-to-end delivery of EPC or capital projects need a structured framework to plan, execute, and control their work with greater confidence and precision.

Engineers and Site Managers

transitioning into project coordination or leadership roles benefit from a clear understanding of the full project lifecycle, governance structures, and stakeholder management.

Contracts and Commercial Managers

who need a stronger foundation in project lifecycle management gain essential context for the commercial decisions they make every day.

Procurement and Supply Chain Professionals

managing vendor performance, schedules, and deliverables need project management skills to keep procurement activities aligned with overall project milestones.

Planning and Scheduling Engineers

looking to strengthen their knowledge of project control frameworks, EVM, and performance reporting will find the curriculum directly applicable.

PMO Professionals

responsible for governance, reporting, and project portfolio management gain the tools to add measurable value to their organisations.

What You Will Learn

The curriculum covers the full project lifecycle, from initiation and planning through to execution, monitoring, and closeout. Every topic is structured around real-world challenges faced in large infrastructure and industrial projects.

1. Project Management Fundamentals

Participants begin by building a solid foundation: understanding the project lifecycle and its phases, the roles and responsibilities of owner, contractor, subcontractor, and PMO, and the governance structures that keep large projects accountable. The module introduces the PMBOK framework and covers the key differences between EPC, EPCM, and multiple-package delivery models, so participants understand the context in which they are working.

2. Project Planning and Scheduling

Effective scheduling is the backbone of any successfully delivered project. This module covers Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) development, activity sequencing, and network building, the Critical Path Method (CPM) and schedule compression techniques, resource loading and levelling, baseline setting and variance analysis, and an introduction to Primavera P6 as a scheduling tool in the EPC environment.

3. Project Cost Management and Budgeting

Cost overruns are one of the most common and costly project failures. Participants learn cost estimation techniques, including bottom-up, parametric, and analogous methods, budget development and cash flow forecasting, and the fundamentals of Earned Value Management (EVM), including SPI, CPI, EAC, ETC. The module also covers cost reporting, financial performance tracking, and how to identify early warning signs before a cost overrun becomes unmanageable.

4. Risk Management in Projects

On large EPC and infrastructure projects, risk is constant. This module gives participants a structured approach to risk identification and categorisation across technical, commercial, contractual, and external dimensions. Participants learn qualitative and quantitative risk assessment techniques, how to build and maintain a project risk register, and risk response strategies tailored to the specific risks that EPC projects face, including scope creep, vendor delays, and force majeure events.

5. Contract and Procurement Management for Project Professionals

Most project managers work with contracts every day without having received formal training on how they work. This module covers the main contract types used in EPC projects, including lump sum, item rate, cost-plus, and FIDIC, the key contractual obligations that fall on the project manager, how to manage subcontracts within a project framework, and how to handle variations, claims, and disputes during project execution.

6. Project Communication and Stakeholder Management

Projects fail when communication breaks down. This module covers stakeholder identification and analysis, communication management planning, and how to manage expectations across client, contractor, and subcontractor teams. Participants also learn how to conduct effective project review meetings, produce meaningful progress reports, and apply conflict resolution techniques in high-pressure project environments.

7. Project Monitoring, Control, and Closeout

The final module focuses on keeping projects on track once they are in execution. Topics include setting up project control dashboards and KPIs, tracking schedule and cost performance against baselines, managing change control and scope creep, and conducting lessons-learned sessions for continuous improvement. The module closes with project closeout procedures, final account settlement, and documentation requirements.

Our Training Approach

01

Experience-Led Instruction

Every session is facilitated by Rajeev Sharma, a project management professional with over 25 years of industry experience at organisations including L&T Institute of Project Management, Tata Projects, GMR Energy, Alstom Projects India, and Dodsal Engineering in Dubai. He does not teach from slides alone. He teaches from real decisions made on live projects, bringing the kind of judgment and context that no textbook can provide.

02

Tailored Program Design

Our training uses real-world case studies drawn from EPC, power, infrastructure, and industrial projects. Participants work through scenarios involving contract disputes, schedule crises, procurement failures, and stakeholder conflicts. This builds the practical judgment needed to handle such situations in their own work, not just theoretical awareness that a problem could exist.

03

Customised to Your Organisation

No two organisations face identical project challenges. Our programmes are tailored to your sector, the types of projects your teams manage, and the specific competency gaps you want to address. Every engagement begins with a structured understanding of your project environment before a single module is designed.

Why Choose RKS Trainings?

Deep Industry Specialisation
Most training providers teach generic project management applicable to any industry. We specialise in EPC and large project environments where contracts are complex, supply chains are multi-tiered, and the cost of poor project management is measured in crores. Our content reflects the specific realities of your world.
Practitioner, Not Just an Instructor
Rajeev Sharma has personally led contracts, procurement, and project management functions at some of India’s most respected EPC and infrastructure companies. He has negotiated contracts, managed claims, resolved disputes, and delivered projects under significant commercial pressure. That experience shapes every session he delivers.
Trusted by India’s Leading Project Organisations
Over 4,500 professionals from 30+ companies have trained through RKS programmes. Our clients include L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering, Reliance Industries Limited, Veolia India, and other leading EPC contractors and project owners across India and internationally. Every testimonial on this site comes from a real professional, not a marketing team.
Practical, Applicable Skills
We measure success not only by participant satisfaction scores but by whether the training changes how professionals work. Every tool, template, and framework taught is something participants can use on their next project, not something they store in a folder and forget.

Build a Team That Delivers

Project delays cost organisations money, credibility, and future contracts. The difference between a project that finishes on time and one that spirals into claims and cost overruns is rarely a technical failure. It is a managerial one. It is the ability to plan rigorously, communicate clearly, manage contracts fairly, and make sound decisions under pressure.
That is exactly what RKS Trainings builds.
If you are ready to strengthen your project management capability, whether for a single team or an entire organisation, we are ready to help.
